Professor Zainab Saleh gives a lecture concerning the reactions of Iraqis in London during the coverage of the fall of Saddam Hussein’s statue during the US occupation of Iraq in 2003. Contending that the fall of the statue transformed the Iraqi communities from exilic ones to a single diasporic entity, intersecting with themes in Tania El Khoury’s work concerning immigrant solidarity and community formation.
